Educate

I provide expert advice to develop corporate policies. I help managers and employees understand their rights and obligations in the workplace, so they can avoid or prevent workplace issues.

Inform

I apply plain language writing and design principles to clarify employment rules and obligations and explain your policies and procedures. The information is appropriate for the audience and is formatted to the situation. I provide adult training services in small or large group settings.

Manage

Through clearly written correspondence, managers can provide instruction on expectations and corrective actions; employees will understand what is expected of them and what they can expect from their employer.

Corporate & Plain Language Writing and Editing

I help you to clarify the purpose of your material and identify and define your target audience. Plain language writing is not "dumbing down" the information; rather, it gets to the point without using unnecessary words or technical jargon. I apply the principles of plain language writing to:

  • Understand the readers' needs and abilities

  • Organize the information to reflect the readers' needs

  • Provide the necessary information

  • Choose the right format for the situation

I work with private and public sector clients, not for profit agencies and individuals to develop:

  • Correspondence

  • Reports

  • Policy and accompanying guidelines, forms and checklists

In addition to writing, I also provide editing services--structural, stylistic, copy editing and proofreading--for corporate materials.
